SISTERHOOD, SUNSHINE, AND SOUTHERN CHARM: A WOMEN'S RETREAT

SISTERHOOD, SUNSHINE, AND SOUTHERN CHARM: A WOMEN'S RETREAT AT THE LAUREL OAK INN AND THE CAMELLIA ROSE INN

The Laurel Oak Inn and The Camellia Rose Inn were thrilled to partner with Marcella Scherer, image consultant extraordinaire, for her Power of the Pause Retreat. She is a business coach, life coach, and cheerleader for all women. Marcella entrusted us with housing and taking care of 11 strong women who came together to learn from each other, encourage each other, and share life's lessons. She organized a spa night, a forest bathing adventure, journaling sessions, meditation sessions, a NIA (Nonimpact aerobics) session, a private tour of the butterfly rainforest, a private view of the Camellia Court Cafe camellia exhibit, gourmet meals by Table & Hearth, and so much more! To learn more about Marcella, please visit www.marcellascherer.com.

What is the purpose of the Power of the Pause Retreat?
Has life been on autopilot? Are you taking care of others, but not yourself? It’s time for a reset.
If you have been busy in the act of DOing and pushing aside exploring your own desires,
then it is time to PAUSE, take a deep breath, and prioritize YOU.
Learn the art of BEing to gain clarity and rediscover the things that bring joy, fulfillment and passion. Leave with new tools to help you put yourself first. Pivot and prioritize what will bring you more success and happiness in an authentic way.

Life can be a whirlwind. Between work, family, and personal commitments, carving out time for ourselves and the women who hold a special place in our hearts can feel like a luxury. But what if we told you there was a haven nestled amidst the charming city of Gainesville, Florida, designed for just that purpose? Enter The Laurel Oak Inn and its sister property, The Camellia Rose Inn. These historic Victorian gems, brimming with Southern charm and modern amenities, offer the perfect setting for a rejuvenating and unforgettable women's retreat.

A Welcoming Embrace: Escape the Ordinary

Shared Experiences: Bonding Over Activities

A women's retreat is all about creating lasting memories with the women you cherish. The Laurel Oak Inn and The Camellia Rose Inn provide the perfect backdrop for a variety of activities that nurture the spirit and strengthen your bond.

Embrace Nature: Start your day with a rejuvenating hike through the nearby Sweetwater Wetlands Park. Immerse yourselves in the beauty of diverse ecosystems, breathe in the fresh air, and engage in stimulating conversations. The park offers trails catering to all levels, making it an accessible activity for everyone.
Unleash Your Inner Chef: The fully-equipped kitchen at The Laurel Oak Inn becomes the stage for a culinary adventure. Gather your friends, knead dough for homemade pasta, toss fresh vegetables for a vibrant sauce, and savor the fruits (or shall we say, veggies?) of your labor together. The act of cooking fosters a sense of camaraderie and creates lasting memories that go beyond simply consuming a meal.
Deep Dives and Heartfelt Conversations: A women's retreat is more than just fun and frolic. It's a time for introspection, encouragement, and meaningful connection. The spacious common areas in both inns provide a haven for open-hearted conversations, workshops focused on personal growth, or simply sharing stories and laughter.
Relaxation and Renewal: Sometimes, the simplest pleasures hold the most value. Picture yourselves sprawling out on the iconic wrap-around porches of either Inn, catching up with old friends, or simply enjoying the quiet companionship. As the sun sets, indulge in refreshing drinks, share stories that make you erupt in laughter, or simply soak in the serene beauty of your surroundings. Both The Laurel Oak Inn and The Camellia Rose Inn seamlessly extend onto spacious wrap-around porches, offering ample room for everyone to relax and connect.

Exploring Beyond the Inns: Unveiling Gainesville's Gems
While the inns offer a haven for relaxation and reconnection, their location positions you perfectly to explore Gainesville's hidden gems. Venture into the heart of downtown and discover charming boutiques, sample local cuisine at cozy cafes, or immerse yourselves in the vibrant art scene. Whether you're passionate about history or simply enjoy discovering unique finds, Gainesville offers something for everyone.
